User reviews
Users appreciate Plants vs. Zombies™ for its classic fun gameplay, graphics, and music, often enjoying it offline for fewer ads. However, many users are frustrated by excessive, long ads interrupting gameplay and the need to watch ads to regain lawn mowers or unlock content. Performance issues like lag and freezing are common complaints. Additionally, some report loss of progress after reinstalling the app. Overall, the game is beloved but ad overload and intrusive monetization significantly detract from the experience.
Pros
- Classic and fun gameplay that many users love and have enjoyed for years.
- Good graphics and music that contribute to an enjoyable gaming experience.
- Offline play option reduces ad interruptions and helps with smoother gameplay.
- Challenging yet entertaining levels that keep players engaged.
- Familiarity and nostalgia factor for long-time fans of the game.
Cons
- Excessive and often lengthy ads between and during levels, making the game frustrating to play.
- Ads and gameplay mechanics that require watching ads to regain lawn mowers or unlock content, which negatively impacts enjoyment.
- Performance issues including lag and freezing, requiring players to restart the app frequently.
- Loss or reset of game progress and purchases after uninstalling or reinstalling the app.
- The game removes or limits lawn mowers by default, requiring players to watch ads to get them back, which many users find annoying.

Still the same fun game but it is INUNDATED WITH ADS. And not short ones either, my gosh, they can take THREE MINUTES to be done. It's so obnoxious. Only way to enjoy the game is on airplane mode. Please cut the ads down, it's absurd. This game is amazing but it didn't used to be so ad heavy.

I love to kill zombies. I kill them on my computer, on my phone, on my tablet. On the bus, at a boring party, in bed at night. I've been playing plants vs zombies for decades, since before they replaced the Michael Jackson Thrilled zombie with its lame equivalent. I get why they did it; it would have been in bad taste after Michael died. I love the game and never get tired of it. Disclaimer: I play offline, so if ads are a problem I never notice it.
