Review summary

Users praise Drip for its privacy-first design with data stored locally, simple and calming interface, being open-source and free of ads, and ease of use. Common issues include lack of birth control tracking and pregnancy support, limited and hard-to-navigate charts and calendar views, and limited customization options. Some users report bugs with cycle calculations and data import. Overall, the app is valued as a minimal, private period tracker but would benefit from enhancements in tracking features, UI improvements, and better handling of edge cases.
Pros
  • Data is stored locally on the device ensuring user privacy and no data sharing.
  • The app has a simple, calming, and non-pink, gender-neutral design which users appreciate.
  • Open source and free of ads, making it accessible and trustworthy.
  • Easy to use with a bare-bones, privacy-focused approach that appeals to users tired of feature-heavy or data-mining apps.
  • Allows for tracking multiple aspects like periods, symptoms, and notes with straightforward input options.
Cons
  • No feature to track birth control methods in detail or set reminders for contraceptive use.
  • Pregnancy tracking is missing, which disrupts cycle statistics for users who become pregnant.
  • The charting and calendar views are limited, hard to navigate, and lack symbols or better displays for symptoms and data.
  • Limited customization options such as inability to hide fertility-related trackers or adjust calendar settings (like week start day or jumping to today's date).
  • Some bugs with cycle length calculation, data import from CSV files, and handling of abnormal cycles or outliers affect accuracy and usability.

Pros: I like that data is stored locally, it's also a plus that the app is aesthetically pleasing and not super pink. Cons: Currently no way to track birth control--I would like to be able to track when I've put a ring in + get a reminder when it's time to remove it. The app currently only seems to let you select whether you used BC on a certain day, nothing else. I know this is a relatively new app so I am hopeful this feature will be added in the future so I can get full use out of the app!

It's a great app, easy to use and glad it is open source. Only issue is I have not been able to get the predicted day of ovulation, even when there has been a cervical mucus and temprature change.
