DOGS OF SPARTA

DOGS OF SPARTA — Greek Chess (Kynes / Poleis)

Two ancient city-states clash on an 8×8 battlefield. Command the Spartans (gold) or the Athenians (silver) in a unique Greek strategy game where enclosure, territory, and sacred temples decide who rules the Polis.

▸ TWO WAYS TO PLAY

• Historical Edition (Polis) — Orthogonal movement, enclosure captures, and territory control. Occupy more than 50% of the board to win, or capture the enemy General. When your front line stalls, open the sacred temples at the center and pass through to break the deadlock — pieces on temple squares cannot be captured.
• Modern Edition — Full tactical warfare: 8-direction movement, Generals with 2-square range, Spartan Sacrifice (remove a piece for two moves), trap timers, and Siege Mode when peace lasts too long and the outer rim burns away.

▸ PLAY YOUR WAY

• Pass & Play — Two players on one device
• vs Computer — Three AI levels: Easy, Normal, Hard
• You always lead the Spartans against the AI Athenians

▸ FEATURES

• Beautiful marble-themed UI with dark & light themes
• Cinzel & Noto Sans typography, animated moves and capture effects
• Live territory percentage (Historical Edition)
• Temple passage mechanic rewards patience and bold breakthroughs
• 15 Hounds + 1 General per side; sacred altars at the board center
• Rules & Lore screen to learn every mechanic

▸ HOW HISTORICAL TERRITORY WORKS

Your occupation score counts your pieces plus empty squares behind unbroken lines of your army (straight or diagonal). Gaps in your line let the enemy through — build solid walls, advance through the temples, and push past 50% to claim victory.

Whether you prefer ancient Polis strategy or modern siege warfare, Dogs of Sparta brings Greek chess to your pocket.
