Based on anonymized medical data, the docmetric app shows the current spread of infection diagnoses in real time and warns of epidemics across Germany and in your region at district level. Your region can be compared to the average in Germany. The course of the disease waves can also be displayed over time and the app shows trend indications. The following diseases are considered: influenza, norovirus, campylobacter, measles, TBE, chickenpox, rotavirus, whooping cough and tuberculosis.

This app is free for everyone to use.

For the incidence, we form the mean of the incidence reported by the Robert Koch Institute and the incidence determined from the anonymized data of the docmetric medical panel. For circles for which we have no data from the docmetric panel, we report the value reported by the Robert Koch Institute. For data protection reasons, data is only collected for those groups in which at least two doctors per group recorded participate in the docmetric panel.

To determine the incidence of infectious diseases from the data collected as part of the docmetric doctor panel, we take into account all diagnoses by general practitioners, general practitioners and internists (HAPI). For the calculation of the incidence, we make the assumption that all infectious diseases are known to exactly one doctor from this group, namely the respective family doctor.
The sickness rate is calculated on the basis of the incidence and the expected value of the duration of the illness. For this purpose, average daily incidences are calculated (weekly incidences divided by 7) and then, in a second step, the daily incidences of all days that are no longer than the mean expected duration of illness are added up for each day. The number of sick days per week ultimately results from the average of the daily sick stocks calculated in this way.

The trend shows the relative change in the number of patients compared to the previous week. If this value has risen (fallen) by> 20%, a rising (falling) arrow is displayed, if the value has remained the same up to +/- 20%, a horizontal arrow is shown.

About docmetric: Technology, data and science are changing healthcare at all levels. At docmetric, we focus on the fact that software and telematics enable new transparency in medical practice and thus a new quality in health care and patient information. In addition, more precise knowledge of the number of cases and selected treatment practices enables new approaches in epidemiology and health services research.

In order to make these opportunities a reality, we have set ourselves the goal of building up a cross-system, at least weekly, medical database. With current statistics on frequencies, trends and the regional distribution of incidences, we want to enable the health system to react more quickly to impending epidemics and disease accumulations and to support doctors in preparing their everyday practice.

At the center of docmetric are our partner doctors, with whom we exchange content and who enrich the docmetric database with anonymous diagnostic data. At the same time, all participating doctors participate in the results of our evaluations and help us with their feedback and suggestions to continuously improve and expand them.
