The foundation of Turkish urology was laid in 1909. But it gained its true self after 1923, that is, since the foundation of the Turkish Republic. Young Turkish urology was established in 1933 to come together as a society and to state that it is an entity. As it is known, urological issues have been evaluated in surgical branches for a long time. However, some of the unique features and different surgeries of urology were quickly accepted as a separate specialty, a chair of urology was established in Istanbul Medical Faculty and Gulhane Military Medical Academy, and then urology clinics were established in Vakıf Gureba Hospital and other state hospitals.

Urologists, who were working hard to spread the name of urology, wanted to come together to establish an association, to publish a publication and to announce the name of Turkish urology to the whole world. Based on the article A of the law of societies no. 3512, 14 urologists in Istanbul came together and established the TURKISH UROLOGY SOCIETY. The founding members of the Society, in alphabetical order:

Ali Eşref Gürsel, Bahattin Lütfi Varnalı, Besim Eneren, Behçet Sabit Erduran, Fevzi Taner, Fuat Hamid Bayer, Fuat Kamil Beksan, Hakkı Rüştü Hasip, İhsan Arif Derman, Mehmet Ali Oma, Saim Ahmet Erkun, Suphi Şenses, Veli Canidis. These 14 founding members elected the first board of directors.

In 1939, some articles of the association's statute were amended. The number of members has reached 30. First board of directors; It consisted of President Behçet Sabit Erduran, 2nd President Fuat Kamil Beksan, General Secretary Ali Eşref Gürsel, Treasurer Bahattin Lütfi Varnalı, Session Secretary Fuat Hamid Bayer.
