Removing fine detail from the background of an image intended for a passport is challenging, so it is better to take your image with the correct, plain background in the first place, if possible. I have only tried the free version so far - the paid version promises unlimited attempts at background removal. Ads that appear in the free version seem to be timed so as to be not too intrusive; kudos to the devs.
