Data Insight: App Data Usage

Mobile data running out too fast? Data Insight shows which apps use your data, what they did overnight and which ones you could limit. It reads the records Android already keeps on your phone.

No account. No ads. No internet permission.

TODAY AT A GLANCE
• App data used today, split into mobile data and Wi‑Fi
• Your top apps, with a tap-to-open history for each one
• All apps for today, 7 days or 30 days, with search and sort
• Traffic Android cannot link to a normal app (system, hotspot, removed apps) is shown separately, so the totals stay honest

WHILE YOU SLEPT
• What your apps sent and received between 12 AM and 7 AM with the screen off
• An optional short morning note at about 8 AM
• A "Why?" button that explains exactly how it was measured

SAVE DATA
• Apps that use a lot of data but that you rarely open
• Apps that use most of their data in the background
• Opens Android's own controls to limit background data or uninstall an app
• See about how much data you saved after removing an app

WILL MY DATA PLAN LAST? (OPTIONAL)
• Add your data limit and renewal: monthly, every few days, quarterly, yearly or one-time
• Forecast, safe daily amount and usage alerts
• Home-screen widget showing what is left
• Data used while roaming is flagged

SHARE AND REPORTS
• A "My data week" card to share
• A PDF report of the last 7 days, app by app

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No internet permission: your app-usage data is not uploaded
• No account, no ads, no trackers
• Amounts only: Data Insight never sees the content of your traffic
• Sharing happens only when you choose it

Useful when your mobile data runs out before the end of the month, your phone uses data overnight, you want to find data-hungry apps, choose the right data plan, or check how much data an app uses on mobile data and Wi‑Fi.

Needs Android 10 or newer and Usage Access, an Android setting you switch on once. App available in English.
