Deep Rise: Fish Evolution

You start as the smallest fish in the deepest, darkest water. Everything down here is bigger than you — and hungry.

Eat what is smaller. Escape what is not. Grow through six evolution stages, climb five ocean zones, and break the surface.

RISE THROUGH FIVE OCEANS
• Abyss (−4000 m) — pitch black, lit only by bioluminescent lures
• Deep Water (−1500 m) — cold columns, hydrothermal vents, drifting squid
• Coral Reef (−300 m) — colour returns, and a moray waits in the rocks
• Shallows (−50 m) — sunlight in shafts, hunters faster than you
• Surface (0 m) — open water, waves, and the largest predators of all

SIMPLE TO PLAY, HARD TO MASTER
Use the on-screen pad in the corner, or just drag your finger anywhere on the water — both work at the same time. Your fish turns smoothly to follow, banking into the curve. Tap the button or double tap to dash. That is the whole control scheme; everything else is instinct and timing.

EVOLVE SIX TIMES
Every meal counts. Fill the growth bar and your fish transforms: bigger, faster, sharper. What hunted you five minutes ago becomes lunch.

FORTY LEVELS, TEN BOSSES
Reach the required stage, then swim for the surface to finish the level. Boss levels make you work for it — feed to charge the weak point, then strike only while the beast is exposed. Three hits and it is over.

POWER-UPS AND UPGRADES
Speed, shield, magnet, invincibility, slow-motion, double points, an extra life and instant growth appear as you play. Collect pearls to permanently upgrade your speed, handling, lives and magnet range.

ENDLESS MODE
When the campaign is not enough, start in mid-water and go wherever you like. Dive toward the abyss or climb to the light — what you meet changes with depth, and the pressure rises the longer you last. Every run pays out pearls.

FISH GUIDE
Sixty species live in these waters. Meet one and it is recorded in your guide with its zone, tier, size, speed and behaviour. The ones you have not seen stay as silhouettes.

MADE BY HAND
Every fish, background, sound effect, note of music and letter of the typeface in this game was created from scratch for it. Fish are not flipbook animations — each one is a deformable mesh with a wave travelling down its body. Light reacts to real normal maps. Caustics ripple across the seabed. It is a small game built with care.
