Review summary

Fans praise Depths of Endor for its old-school dungeon crawler charm, large exploration spaces, accessible gameplay, and unobtrusive ads, along with a helpful stat rebirth feature. However, several reviews note the game’s lean, barebones graphics and content, wishing for more depth and additional retro-style polish. Overall, it appeals to nostalgia-driven RPG fans who prioritize ease of play and classic mechanics over rich production values.
Pros
  • Old-school retro dungeon crawler vibe and nostalgic feel
  • Large, exploration-driven dungeons that give a sense of discovery
  • Easy to pick up and learn with steady progression
  • Minimal/optional ads, not intrusive
  • Stat rebirth/respec feature allowing customization without losing progress
Cons
  • Graphics and overall presentation feel very simple/barebones
  • Desire for more depth/content and deeper customization beyond the lean design

this seems to be heavily inspired by a childhood favorite of mine, Mordor. it had a fresher look and some new features it looks like. I've been looking for a new RPG to play on the phone and now I'm set!

good dungeon crawler. my only problem is if you have to save and quit mid-dungeon, when you come back, all of the monsters on the path you took are alive again. it's tough to escape.

Uses AI for imagery. Found this out while setting up. Noped right out. I don't support ai which swipes real artist's work no matter how 'good' it may seem. Would give negative stars for this reason, but it wouldn't let me give even 0 stars.
