Subject: a silver-coated wolf that hunts only by moonlight.

Observed behavior. The wolf waits at the west edge of the clearing, muscles coiled, while a pale ring of light marks exactly where it will land. When the moment is right it covers the whole distance in one clean arc. Rabbits are small and quick, worth 30. Deer move steadily along the trails, worth 20. The boar, worth 50, stands its ground and gores anything that lands short of dead-center.

Hazards noted. Bramble patches punish a careless landing. The subject endures three such wounds before the hunt is over.

Lunar effect. The moon overhead waxes and wanes on a steady cycle. Under a full moon every successful strike counts double, so the patient hunter times the phase and turns the clearing into a feast.
