Deepward

Deepward is a quarter-view 3D action dungeon crawler. There is no town to manage and no army to command. The whole game is the fight.
Every enemy attack is telegraphed, so every hit you take is one you could have avoided. Each dungeon tier asks for a skill the last one didn't: spacing, then dodging, blocking, parrying, and reading feints.
READ THE FIGHT
• Dash out of charges, block blows, and parry to open enemies up
• Fluid motion-captured animation for combos, strafing, shield blocks, hit reactions and deaths

GEAR UP
• Eight equipment slots: helm, armour, gloves, boots, weapon, shield, trinket and ring
• See your hero in 3D wearing exactly what you have on
• Compare any piece against what you're wearing before you equip it
• Rarity tiers, sockets and upgrade levels
• Craft hunter gear, temper your equipment and salvage what you don't need
EXPLORE THE RIM
• Leave the Hold and enter an open field with a stream, a bridge, birch and pine woods
• Four zones: the Meadow, Thornwood, the Old Graveyard and the Broken Ridge
• A day and night cycle: by night the dead rise in the graveyard and wolf packs roam the Meadow
• Wolves that circle, boars that charge, goblin scouts that throw spears, skeleton archers
• Hulking monsters two to three times your height: the Deep Mutant, Cave Troll and Stone Golem
• Field bosses such as Old Tusk and the Grave Knight, which return after they fall
• Gather herbs and ore to craft new gear

• Descend into the Endless Deep, where floors grow tougher and champions wait
• Earn XP, gold and weapon mastery with every kill

Deepward has no model or texture files. The characters, monsters and gear are built in code, which keeps the game small.
