stats, no cartoon dinosaurs: 🦕 over 74,000 real prehistoric genera drawn from
open scientific databases, backed by roughly 1.8 million genuine fossil
occurrence records from 212 countries and territories. If a fact isn't
sourced, we leave it blank rather than guess.

📋 READ PROPER FIELD DOSSIERS
Every genus opens into a sourced dossier: a real illustration or photograph
where one exists (never a blank — a clean category silhouette stands in), a
live 🧬 Scientific Classification pulled from the Open Tree of Life, geological
period and age, where it has been found, the rock it's preserved in, and how it
lived — movement, habitat, diet and reproduction, inferred from fossil ecology
data and labelled as such. Where the record allows, you also get verbatim
encyclopedia sections on description, feeding, locomotion, behaviour and
discovery. 📚 Over 22,000 genera carry written profiles; more than 12,500 have
a quick fact.
