Wakebell: Alarm Clock

Wakebell is an alarm clock built around one promise: it rings.

Most alarm apps fail in the same three ways. They stop ringing after a phone restart. Their volume gets quietly turned down by another app. And they bury a simple alarm under settings you never asked for. Wakebell fixes those three things and stops there.

RELIABLE BY DESIGN

• Exact alarms. A 07:00 alarm rings at 07:00, not whenever the system feels like it.
• Survives a reboot. Every alarm is re-registered when your phone starts up, without opening the app.
• Alarm history. See whether each alarm actually rang, was dismissed or was snoozed. If registration ever fails, it is recorded there too — nothing is hidden.

VOLUME THAT STAYS PUT

• Per-alarm volume, separate from media volume. Other apps cannot turn your alarm down.
• Optional fade in — starts quiet and rises to full over 30 seconds.
• Plays through the speaker even with headphones plugged in, so it still wakes you if they fall out.

TWO TAPS TO SET AN ALARM

• Open, pick a time, save. Sound, snooze, vibration and name are folded away until you want them.
• Snooze exactly how you like: turn it off entirely, or cap how many times it repeats.
• Skip the next occurrence of a repeating alarm without deleting it.
• See how long is left — "In 7 h 12 min", not just a weekday name.

BEDTIME, IF YOU WANT IT

• Set a bedtime and a wake-up time and see the hours of sleep between them.
• One quiet reminder line at bedtime. No nagging, no streaks, no guilt, and you can turn it off from the notification.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET

• Your next alarm on the home screen, with the time remaining.
• Tap + to add an alarm without opening the app.

WHAT WAKEBELL DOES NOT DO

• No account, no sign-up, no server. Your alarms stay on your phone.
• No phone permission. No display-over-other-apps permission. No battery exemption prompt. Notifications is the only permission it asks for, once, when you save your first alarm.
• No subscription and no in-app purchase. The app is supported by ads, and there are never ads on the ringing screen or the alarm editing screen.
• Dark by default, because an alarm clock is used in a dark bedroom. The ringing screen is always dark, whatever theme you pick.
