DB Speed Test: Internet & GPS

Test your internet, your vehicle and your phone from one app.

Most speed tests hand you three numbers and leave you to work out what they mean. DB Speed Test tells you what those numbers do to the things you actually use — streaming, calls, gaming and driving.

INTERNET SPEED TEST
• Download and upload measured over multiple parallel connections
• Ping, jitter and packet loss
• Bufferbloat: how far your ping climbs while the line is busy. This is usually why a "fast" connection still feels bad on calls, and most apps never measure it.
• A plain verdict — top streaming resolution, how many HD video calls your line supports, whether it holds up for online gaming
• Works on Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G

GPS SPEEDOMETER
• Live speed from satellite GPS
• Top speed, average speed, trip distance and trip time
• km/h, mph, knots and m/s
• Overspeed alerts with one-tap limits
• HUD mode — mirrored display that reflects off the windscreen at night

0-100 ACCELERATION TIMER
• Time your car or bike from a standstill
• Arm it at rest and it starts on its own the moment you move, so you never touch the phone while driving
• Splits at every landmark speed, plus your personal best
• 0-60 mph mode when you switch to imperial

DNS BENCHMARK
Compares Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, OpenDNS, AdGuard and Control D on your network and tells you which one is quickest. Every connection begins with a DNS lookup, so a slow resolver drags on everything you open.

APP REACH TEST
Real latency to YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Netflix, Steam, Discord, Spotify and more, so you can see which services your network handles badly.

WEB PAGE LOAD
Loads any site and splits the wait into DNS, connection, first byte and transfer, so you can see exactly where the time goes.

MORE TOOLS
• Ping and latency against global servers
• Wi-Fi analyzer — signal, band, link rate and Wi-Fi standard, with a live trace so you can walk the building and find dead spots
• Device benchmark — storage read and write, random 4K, memory bandwidth, CPU single and multi core
• Device info — chipset, cores, RAM and storage

BUILT PROPERLY
• Light and dark themes
• Smooth, fast interface
• Full history with trend charts, exportable as JSON
• No account needed
• No ads

PRIVACY
Tests run on your device and results are saved only on your device. There are no servers of ours to send anything to, and there are no ads or trackers. Location is used only to read your GPS speed on the speedometer screens, and it never leaves your phone.

Please note: speed tests move real data across your connection, so on a metered mobile plan they count against your allowance.
