dbMeter: Noise. Record. Share.

By: Arc Sini App
Decibel & noise meter. Share readings with audio, video, location & notes.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

dB Meter is a sound level meter and noise meter. Instant decibel (dB) readings you can save and share with a note, optional audio, optional location, or a meter video. Private, offline-capable. No account. No ads.

INSTANT MEASUREMENT
Open the app and see the sound level around you right away, with a live graph and a plain-language label - from "Very quiet" through "Conversation level" to "Extremely loud" - so a reading like 72 dB actually means something.

MIN / AVG / MAX
Every session tracks its minimum, average, and maximum alongside elapsed time, so you get the full range of what happened rather than the level at the moment you happened to look. Pause and resume without losing the session, or reset and start fresh.

TWO METER STYLES
Pick the analog gauge to see which zone you are in at a glance, or the linear bar for a compact readout that is fast to scan. Switch any time in Settings.

KEEP A RECORD OF WHAT YOU MEASURED
Save any measurement to History with a note. Location and audio are separate Settings switches, both off until you turn them on. Open a saved entry later to review the levels, play the clip if you saved one, and see the spot on a small map if location was on. Delete the entry and its attachments go with it.

SHARE A READING CLEARLY
From a saved entry, send one polished reading card: an image of the maximum needle with min / average / max, duration, an accuracy note, and an app link. Include or strip the note and the location link before you send it.

On Android you can also share a local meter video. The needle replays the saved points for that session's duration; if a clip was saved, that audio rides along. It is a reconstruction of the meter, not a camera recording of the room. "Share with AV" is off by default.

What goes out follows Settings. Turn internet, location, or audio off and those pieces are not attached. Nothing is uploaded to us. The system share sheet only receives the card or the video you chose to send.

HANDY FOR
- Checking whether a room, street, office, or worksite is as loud as it feels
- Keeping your own record of a recurring noise problem, with the levels and where you were
- Comparing rooms, appliances, headphones, or machines
- Plain curiosity about how loud everyday things really are

CALIBRATION
If you have access to a trusted meter, measure the same steady sound and nudge dB Meter in 0.5 dB steps until the two line up. Reset to zero whenever you like. This is a convenience adjustment, not professional certification.

LEFT RUNNING? IT ASKS
Measuring for a long stretch, or somewhere you are not watching the screen? dB Meter checks in to ask whether you are still measuring instead of running for hours unnoticed. Choose the interval - or turn the check-in off entirely - in Settings.

WORKS OFFLINE
No signal, airplane mode, a basement, a job site: measurement, history, saved audio, and sharing a reading card or meter video keep working. Disable internet in Settings and the app stays local. The only network uses are the optional map preview and nearby-place lookup for a saved location; both respect that switch.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- Audio is analyzed in memory and written to a clip only when Save audio is on (off by default).
- The microphone stops the instant you leave the Meter screen or send the app to the background.
- No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no subscriptions.
- History stays on the device unless you explicitly use Share.
- Internet, location, and audio are independent switches. Share can only include what you left on.

HONEST ACCURACY
A phone microphone is not a calibrated professional sound level meter, and dB Meter says so plainly instead of burying it. Use it as a convenient estimate - for curiosity, for awareness, for keeping your own record - not as a certified instrument.

LIGHT AND DARK
Follows your system theme, or choose light or dark yourself.
