The Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Solo School was pioneered and founded by the Sahabat Solo Charity Foundation, which was initially a social and study association. Starting from concern about the general trend of moral decadence, as well as a sense of responsibility to improve the faith and morals of the nation's next generation, the Friends Charity Foundation decided to inaugurate and socialize a school based on the Islamic religion. In collaboration with the Jakarta Syifa Budi Foundation, a foundation that has managed the Al-Azhar Syifa Budi School and the Asyifa Islamic Boarding School since 1971, the Al-Azhar Syifa Budi School Solo was inaugurated on July 14 2002 by Mr. H. Slamet Suryanto, who at that time served as Mayor of Solo.
