User reviews
Dark Summoner has a nostalgic appeal for long-time players with consistent gameplay and appealing monster collection. However, many reviews highlight significant issues including frequent login and account access problems, a frustrating pay-to-win model, excessive UI clutter causing lag, and poor performance with bugs and glitches. The combat system is also criticized for being automated and lacking interactive features, making it dull. Overall, while the game retains a dedicated audience, the technical and design problems notably impact the user experience.
Pros
- The game has a nostalgic and consistent gameplay experience similar to its earlier versions from the 2010s.
- There is a loyal player base that appreciates the game's art style and monster collection aspect.
- The game includes a variety of content such as special events, battles, and clan leagues which keeps some players engaged.
- It has potential with strategic elements for summoning and team building.
- Regular content updates have kept the game somewhat interesting for long-time players.
Cons
- Persistent login issues especially on 5G networks and difficulties with account recovery are frequent complaints.
- The game is heavily pay-to-win, with expensive in-game purchases and often punishing grind for free players.
- Excessive clutter and pop-ups on the screen degrade the user experience and create lag, especially on boot-up and during missions.
- The UI is overwhelming and confusing with little interactive gameplay, leading to boring, automated combat.
- Performance problems like lag, glitches, slow screen transitions, and game freezes are widely reported and not adequately addressed.

Can not log in to game on 5G. I have to use WiFi. I even tried going through the Google play store. 3 years later still not happening.

used to be really fun, had a story line for each area you passed through and actually gave you lore as to why you're summoning beasts through these gates, but now its just an oversexualized clickbait of a game. i get fan service but even that has its limits. also toomuch on screen garbage during every boot up of the game, cant even play simple missions anymore without being lagged into an interuption of some new daily bonus or login thing.
