Live Sky: Stargazing & Planets

Make the most of your next night under the stars. Live Sky helps you explore the sky from your observing location, follow the Moon and planets, and plan what to see with binoculars or a telescope.

YOUR SKY, WHERE YOU ARE
See which objects are above your horizon, their direction and altitude, and when they rise, set or reach their highest point. Explore planets, stars, constellations and deep-sky objects, with detailed views and observing information.

PLAN AHEAD
Use Time Machine to preview the sky up to 12 hours ahead. Follow Moon phases and an astronomy events calendar, including meteor showers and eclipses. Event visibility depends on your location. Save favorites and create observation alerts so you can return to the objects that matter to you.

KNOW YOUR VIEW
Save an observing location and capture a viewpoint outline to account for buildings, trees and other obstructions. Explore your saved horizon in a 3D sky view. Add your observing equipment to keep your plans organized.
