🔐 Permissions and services

Daily Blocker requires certain Android permissions and services to provide its blocking and usage-insight features.

Accessibility Service

Daily Blocker uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to detect when a user-selected blocked app is opened and display the blocking screen. It is used only to enforce app-blocking rules configured by the user.

Android VpnService

Daily Blocker uses Android VpnService for local DNS filtering to enforce website and domain-keyword blocking configured by the user.

Daily Blocker is not a general-purpose VPN and does not route browsing traffic through Daily Blocker servers or external VPN servers. Unblocked DNS requests may be forwarded to your network’s DNS provider or fallback DNS providers so websites and apps can load normally.
