The ModPhys mobile application is an interactive virtual laboratory created for the visual study of the fundamental laws of nuclear physics. The application allows you to simulate the spontaneous process of transformation of unstable atomic nuclei into nuclei of other elements.
Physical basis of modeling: The work is based on the law of radioactive decay. You will be able to practically explore the concept of half-life - the time interval during which half of the initial number of nuclei decays. The simulation demonstrates the statistical nature of the phenomenon: the application uses a random number algorithm for each individual nucleus, simulating the real probabilistic behavior of the microworld.
How the application works:
1. At the beginning of the experiment, a system of 128 unstable nuclei is available to you.
2. Each click on the "Continue" button simulates the passage of one half-life.
3. The system automatically calculates the number of decayed nuclei and displays their state in real time using color animation (green - surviving nuclei, red - those that decayed).
4. Simultaneously with the animation, a graph of the number of surviving nuclei versus time is plotted.
