Central University of Kashmir

The Central University of Kashmir (CU Kashmir) was established alongside 15 other Central Universities in the year 2009 by an Act of Parliament. The State government earmarked 503 acres of land at Tulmulla and its adjoining areas in the Ganderbal district for the establishment of the permanent campus of the University.

After functioning from temporary campuses in Srinagar from 2009 to 2017, the University shifted to its home town Ganderbal in 2018 and is currently functioning from the following campuses: Main Campus Tulmulla Ganderbal, Green Campus Duderhama Ganderbal, Science Campus Nunar Ganderbal & Arts Campus Beehama Ganderbal.

The Main campus of the University at Tulmulla is spread over a vast landscape with scenic surroundings, providing the campus with a calm ambiance suited for an academic institution. The construction work is currently going on in full swing at the campus site. The University is gradually shifting its departments to the new campus at Tulmulla. The number of students enrolled in various programmes offered by the university are in access of 3000 in the academic year 2024.
Currently, the University has Nine (09) schools with 21 constituent Teaching Departments offering 40+ PG, UG, Diploma, Research, and Vocational programmes.

Throughout the difficult circumstances in Kashmir, the University has maintained high standards in Academics & Research. It is a moment of pride for the CUK family that the University in such a short span of time has grown considerably not only in terms of human resources but also in terms of infrastructure.

We vividly see ourselves achieving and progressing while surmounting the hurdles. The Central University of Kashmir will continue to make a mark in terms of academic excellence and it keep attracting students, scholars, and teachers from across the country.
