Over a year ago, Israel Post began using a new zip code system.
In the new zip code system, 7 digits are used instead of 5 digits in the old zip code system. In this way, the zip code is more accurate so that each building receives its own zip code.
It was announced on the Israel Post website that the new system will improve the sorting and distribution processes of mail and will allow for improved service provided to citizens.
The five-digit zip code system is no longer in effect today, so from now on, you must enter a 7-digit zip code when addressing a letter, package, or any postal item.
