2024-11-03	De*****	Dcss is a delight. The ASCII version which this is might not appeal to all because of the lack of graphics but any RPG player should give this a chance. Once you learn the controls you will enjoy this like no other. This is a rogue like in that if you die that's the end for that character but hopefully you learn something you can apply to the next run. Mind you sometimes luck does play a part but a skilled player can overcome most RNG failures.

One inconvenience I ran into is the unaccessible location of options file on a device with no root, and there seems to be no other way to disable auto resting when autoexploring other than modifying the file. upd: Also have noticed that the app crashes when ctrl+z (^Z) is pressed

2023-05-07	Ky*****	Don't get the complaints about keyboard I stick to "o" , tab, and the num pad and get it done. Edit: No updates in awhile, missing version .29? Edit: Thank you so much for prompt update, always come back to dcss. I'm partial to ASCII because it's like reading a book as it's written, really let's you use your imagination. Thanks again!

2021-10-07	Vi*****	Unbalanced game structure in the end. Why do you have 3 levels of resistance for fire and cold but only one for acid/corrosion (and the acid/corrosion does double duty as damage to both health and armor/weapons). It wouldn't be as bad if it was to only aspect. It's really just stupid. It's so off balance that by the time you make it to the levels where it matters it just ruins the game once you find out that all of your effort to build a character are wasted in the end.

2021-04-17	Jo*****	useless. there's absolutely NO WAY to choose any of the main menu options aside from making a new character. I've tried every key, every option of every key (caps, alt, shift, etc) and NOTHING works. So, you cannot return to a saved character by any means, which of course makes this game useless on the android platform. Don't know if this was a glaring error in the coding in an update or what, but you just to be and to scroll through menu options with the Alt/shift (movement keys).not anymore.

2020-10-17	Ja*****	I've never had it crash. Works well once you've got a hang of.the keyboard controls. I kind of miss some of the species that could be chosen (various elves, besides deep) but I suppose they weren't different enough.

2020-04-05	A *****	Where to begin... The learning curve is steep, but suffice to say its worth it for a game you could literally sink hours into and still find new ways to delve the dungeons. Character diversity, and skill sets are great, and the progression system is top notch. Overall a game worth trying at the very least, however if a quick, and simple game is more your taste then take your time elsewhere because Dcss is the long term gem you'll be putting hours into.

2019-12-24	A *****	(*edit) It seems the latest update makes the game run much more smooth. Also, the keyboard problem is now solved, though the buttons on (upX) section can't be used to navigate through the main menu (upK for up and upJ for down). 2019-12-21	A *****	I love this game, it feels like my childhood. However, the 12/20/19 update made the keyboard go all screwy. I had customized my keyboard so that game play was more user-friendly and like the PC version, but now I can't use either the toggles for the number keys or the command keys. I was able to restore the default keys, but I can't set it up the way it was before. It also won't let me set any keys to a ?. Please fix! Thanks!
