Features & Capabilities

Waking up groggy usually is not about how long you slept — it is about when your alarm went off. Sleep runs in cycles of roughly 90 minutes, and waking in the middle of one is what leaves you heavy and slow. Nocto does the arithmetic for you, so your alarm lands between cycles instead of inside one.

Nocto is a calm, quiet sleep-cycle calculator — an anti-alarm. It never wakes you up. It simply tells you the best times to fall asleep or to get up, and then gets out of your way.

TWO WAYS TO PLAN YOUR NIGHT

🌙 "I want to wake up at…"
Pick the time you need to be awake. Nocto shows you the bedtimes that let you complete whole sleep cycles — with the number of cycles and the total hours of sleep for each one. The healthiest options are highlighted, so the right choice is obvious at a glance.

☀️ "I'm going to bed now"
Heading to bed this minute? Nocto counts from right now, adds the time it usually takes you to drift off, and lists the good moments to wake up.

WHAT IS INSIDE

• Whole-cycle bedtimes and wake-up times, calculated instantly
• Recommended options for a full night highlighted for you
• Adjustable cycle length — 90 minutes suits most people, but you can tune it
• Adjustable time to fall asleep, so the maths matches your reality
• Bedtime reminder — a gentle nudge when it is time to wind down
• Separate vibration and sound switches for that reminder
• A history of your nights with an on-time streak, to build the habit
• A calming dark night interface designed for a dim bedroom
• Follows your system's 12-hour or 24-hour clock automatically

BUILT TO BE QUIET

Nocto works completely offline. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no network access, no advertising, no analytics, and no in-app purchases. Nothing you enter leaves your phone — your sleep history stays on your device. The interface uses soft, low-contrast night colours on purpose, so opening the app at 11pm does not blast light into your eyes.

WHO IT IS FOR

• Anyone who wakes up tired despite a full night in bed
• Early risers who need to work backwards from an alarm
• Shift workers and students planning short, efficient naps
• People rebuilding a regular bedtime routine
• Anyone who wants a calmer alternative to a screen full of sleep charts

A NOTE ON THE SCIENCE

Sleep cycles average about 90 minutes, but the exact length varies from person to person and from night to night. Treat Nocto's times as good guidance rather than a stopwatch — and adjust the cycle length in Settings until the results feel right for you. Nocto is a planning tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose or treat sleep disorders.

Set a bedtime tonight, wake up between cycles, and see how different the morning feels.
