Review summary

While the Myers-Briggs app is valued for providing insights into personality types and aiding in personal growth and relationship understanding, many users report major access issues. The app requires an access code without a public sign-up option, leaving new users unable to use it. There is also a lack of support for login problems and confusion about the app's intended audience, leading to criticism that it is elitist or complicated. When accessible, the app delivers consistent type results but offers only basic, not deeply personalized, content.
Pros
  • Provides valuable insights into personality types, helping users understand themselves and others better.
  • Helps improve relationships by understanding communication preferences among spouses, friends, or family.
  • The app works well when accessible, delivering consistent personality type results.
  • Supports making positive changes in personal growth and dealing with others.
  • The Myers-Briggs system itself is appreciated for its depth and usefulness.
Cons
  • The app requires an access code to use, but there is no obvious way to create an account or obtain this code for new users.
  • Users cannot log in or access the app without an access code, and there is no public access, making it unusable for general users.
  • There is a lack of customer support or clear instructions on how to get help with access code or login issues.
  • The app is perceived as complicated or elitist, possibly designed only for professionals or private organizations.
  • The personalization and content depth are limited, with simple information and little explanation on how different types interact.

Your prices are steep. Way too steep for personal use. Genuinely curious, who actually pays for this?

I've been engaged in Myers-Briggs for many years. Over the years, I've peeled back more of the onion skin and really begin to appreciate the value if personality.

It asks email and the access code after starting the app. I don't have access code because this is my first time signing up. And it has no option for creating a new account. How do you expect someone to have an access code when they have never ever made an account? When you have never sent access code to their email?

I'm intrigued with the depth of people and there communication preferences. The Meyers Briggs puts into perspective that there's no point in trying to change people. I highly recommend having a spouse, friends or child take the test. Relationships improve.

Elitist bull. The app I mean, not the system. Won't work without an access code. Listen, it has been my experience as a member of the general public that most "practicioners", as the Myers-Briggs company puts it, aren't trained in, or know anything about, the MBTI at all, only the DSM-5. So the idea that this app is only for "(mis)trained professionals" is bunk on its face. That is why so many people like myself have taken it upon ourselves to better educate ourselves in alternative psychology.

It's a private app that requires log in and code that all of us people out here can not access at all. Thanks for that.
