User Reviews

Users appreciate One Way: The Elevator for its beautiful artwork, emotional storytelling, and well-balanced puzzles that offer a satisfying experience. The game's atmosphere is immersive and heartwarming. However, multiple players express frustration over missing crucial collectible items without in-game hints or notices, forcing level replays or restarts. The save system is limited, and some puzzles are unintuitive, prompting reliance on walkthroughs. Occasional soft locks and pixel hunting also detract from gameplay. Despite these issues, many praise the game for its creative design and emotional depth.
Pros

  • Engaging, emotional, and well-written storyline with heartwarming and sad elements
  • Puzzle design is generally enjoyable with a range of difficulties suitable for mobile gameplay
  • The game offers a good balance of challenging and relaxing gameplay with a satisfying overall experience
  • Well-paced achievements and tasks that add to replay value
Cons
  • Critical collectible items are often missed without clear indication, forcing players to replay levels and sometimes restart the whole game
  • Lack of in-game hints or guidance leads to confusion and pixel hunting, increasing player frustration
  • Save system limitations, such as not saving progress within chapters and loss of progress upon reinstalling, hinder user experience
  • Some puzzles and clues are unintuitive or inconsistent, causing players to rely heavily on walkthroughs
  • Certain gameplay mechanics or puzzles can soft lock or require excessive clicking, detracting from enjoyment

I think its a poorly made game, its very simple yet you get stuck way too easily. Then your just clicking on everything on your screen to see if you missed something. I didnt like the face puzzle and its floor 6 of 20. Im not big on games that you basically are just going to keep reading a walkthrough to play, it defeats the purpose of the game. I honestly think the high ratings are people that dont mind using a walkthrough. Im not gonna bother playing any further.

It's quite old now but it has aged incredibly well. Everything a mobile game should be: not too long, with an actual end, well balanced and paced achievements and tasks. On top of that, the one thing often discarded in mobile gaming is storyline. Well not so here - the premise is as beautiful as the artwork, and the tale is equal parts heart warming and breaking. I really enjoyed this - thank you Cottongame!
