ChainSnake is a daily word puzzle with a twist: the answer is hidden as a winding chain of letters, and it is up to you to find the path.

Every puzzle starts as a grid of letters that looks like noise. Somewhere inside it, a famous quote is spelled out cell by cell along a snaking path. Drag your finger from letter to adjacent letter to trace the chain, and the hidden line reveals itself as you go. Then comes the bonus round — you have found the words, but can you name who said them?

It is a word game and a quiz in one, and it takes about five minutes a day.

• Watch the trail light up as the hidden line appears
• Finish the chain, then answer the bonus question

THREE DIFFICULTY MODES, EARN YOUR STARS
• Difficult — nothing but the grid. Solve it clean and earn 3 stars.
• Medium — the start and end of the chain are marked. Worth 2 stars.
• Easy — the answer is filled in for you. Worth 1 star.

The stars are scored against the easiest mode you switched on, so a clean solve really is a clean solve. Play honest and the score means something.
