User Reviews

The PandwaRF app is praised for enabling advanced RF communication with the PandwaRF device and having a responsive developer team. However, users repeatedly mention issues with lack of Yardstick One support, privacy concerns over app permissions, Bluetooth connection instability, startup crashes, and bugs in frequency controls. The UI is appreciated but some features and compatibility limitations hinder user experience. Overall, the app is powerful but needs improvements in hardware compatibility, stability, and user controls.
Pros
  • App allows communication with PandwaRF device enabling signal retransmission and advanced RF operations from a phone.
  • Developers are responsive and actively listen to user feedback.
  • The GUI is nice, providing sufficient controls for users.
  • The app supports proprietary PandwaRF devices and helps with scripting for Yardstick One compatibility.
  • Device and app combination is powerful, enabling features often only possible with more expensive gear.
Cons
  • Lack of support for Yardstick One (YS1) hardware despite claims and similarity to RfCAT software.
  • App requires questionable permissions such as contacts and GPS, raising privacy concerns.
  • App experiences frequent Bluetooth connection issues after updates, including spontaneous disconnections and device rebooting.
  • Crashes at startup on some Android versions, rendering the app unusable for certain users.
  • Frequency control bugs after operations like SPESCAN; inability to resume listening or correctly change frequencies; lacks a shutdown button for easier app/device management.

Talks about yardstick one and the cc1111 and how this is based off/using RfCAT software and YS1 (CC1111) BUT YET HAS NO SUPPORT FOR THE YARDSTICK ONE IF it's using RfCAT as it's base software then it was purposely made to not support ys1 cuz RfCAT works with ys1 out of box and is the only supported software for ys1 I would buy this device if I was able to use and test the app with the yard stick one because if it's as good as it looks then yeah I would want the added features of there hardware
