Derry Smart Tour

Derry Smart Tour is an app meant for showing tourists information about nearby points of interest in Derry City Northern Ireland. Most features will function with no internet connectivity so it can function even if you have no data access.

It works by checking your GPS location and if you are in or next to an attraction, point of interest or area with historical significance it will show you information, which might include text, images, videos or links. If you are not near an identified location, it will display a map with the 10 closest locations, which can be used to get information or directions.

Derry Smart Tour also has a Tour Route feature, which allows you to select from a list of locations and get directions to each of them allowing you to have your own personal tour without paying for a tour guide.

The app now has local services such as Bars, Restaurants, Guided Tours, Hotels, Shops and Transport and a local events feed from What's on Derry Strabane.

Derry Smart Tour is actively being updated with new locations and updated information and suggestions on missing locations or areas the app can be improved are very welcome.

Derry Smart Tour requires GPS access in order to function, your location is never transmitted from your phone and internet connectivity is only used to download updated information and for map/direction features.
