Arab cuisine refers to the gastronomy and culinary traditions of the different cuisines of the Arab world and Mesopotamia. It is considered a major component of African cuisine, and as such it includes many regional food practices, the most important of which are oriental and Egyptian cuisine. It is also close to Jewish, Berber, Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, with which it shares dishes and culinary traditions.

Arab cuisine is often characterized by respect for the prohibition of food stemming from the Islamic religion (haram): pork and alcohol dishes are generally prohibited, and food is sometimes prepared in a ritual manner (halal).

The main dishes of Arab cuisine are common in many local cultures: tabbouleh, hummus, meatballs (kofta), mezes, pancakes, falafel, shawarma.
