A family history

The name Colasanti is already known in the world of antiques since the end of the 1960s when Luigi Colasanti, following his great passion, began the business and in a few years led "Luigi Colasanti" to become a great company. With the growth of the business, the sectors of interest also expand: antique and modern silver, jewelry, furniture and art objects with particular sensitivity for ivories and micromosaics, old, 19th and modern paintings.

At the end of the 80s Raffaella, Luigi's daughter, an expert gemologist, opened a vintage jewelry store, Decò, Liberty, in Via del Babuino, in Rome, with particular attention to the creations of the 40s, while her sister Francesca continues her work in the art market, specializing in silver, porcelain and objets de vertu.

The company continues to grow in credibility and competence and since 1991 has taken part in the most important antiquarian events in Italy and in the world, from the first edition of the Biennale "Antiquari del Mondo" in Rome, to the Gotha of Parma, Artigiani del Mondo in Turin, Genoa, Vicenza, Milan, Reggio Emilia, Naples, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Montecarlo.

It is in 2005 that Luigi's daughters, Raffaella and Francesca, after years of experience in the sector, decide to devote themselves to the auction house business, while their father Luigi continues that of niche antiques, focusing on silver, micromosaics, ivories and objets de vertu.

Colasanti Casa d'Aste deals with the sale of art objects, furnishings, antique, modern and contemporary paintings, silver, jewelery, watches, oriental art, design and carpets, evaluating and selecting entire private collections.

In a few years, the experience and taste in selecting objects of particular interest capable of capturing fans of all kinds, has brought customers and admirers from all over the world to Colasanti Casa d'Aste.

But the family story continues with the third generation: Tommaso and Giacomo, respectively children of Raffaella and Francesca, although very young, have already been kidnapped by the love for art and during their free time with enthusiasm and passion they help the organization of auctions.

This passion that has been handed down for three generations is the strength of Colasanti Casa d'Aste, a family business between tradition and renewal.
