Public Speaking: Speech Drills

Public Speaking is a daily practice app for anyone who freezes up before a toast, a job interview, a work presentation, or a five-minute intro at a networking event. No camera, no live audience — just a 45-second prompt, your own voice, and two honest numbers: your speaking pace and how many filler words slipped in.

Here's how a session works. Read a short prompt, tap record, talk for well under a minute, and stop. Your voice is transcribed right on your phone — nothing is uploaded anywhere to capture or analyze your audio. Your words-per-minute and filler-word count are computed directly from that on-device transcript by plain, deterministic code, never a score invented from nothing. Speech recognition and filler-word detection run in all ten of the app's interface languages — English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese — with Japanese and Chinese measured character by character, since neither is written with spaces between words.

• No pass or fail — if you'd rather not record, self-rate the drill instead and keep your streak alive

• A running history of every session, with what you practiced and when
• A pace trend and a filler-rate trend, so you watch your filler words actually fall over the weeks
• An optional daily reminder at a time you choose, plus a single nudge if your streak is about to break — nothing more

Public Speaking Pro removes the weekly session limit, unlocks all 48 drills and all 12 lessons, keeps your complete session history, adds the filler-rate trend, layers an AI-generated coaching tip on top of the built-in one, and removes the banner and interstitial ads free members see between drills.

A NOTE ON LANGUAGE
The interface, speech recognition, and pace/filler measurement work in all ten supported languages. The drill prompts, lesson scripts, and built-in coaching tips are currently authored in English and Turkish; in the other eight languages those prompts and tips display in English while you record and are measured in the language you actually speak.

Payment is charged to your account at confirmation of purchase, and your subscription renews automatically for the same term and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your voice recordings never leave your device. Only the numbers derived from a session — your pace, your filler count — are saved, and those stay on your phone too, unless you're a Pro member requesting the optional AI coaching tip, which sends that session's transcript to generate one sentence of feedback and does not store it afterward.
