Perpetual Engine Step

Welcome to the Perpetual Engine Step into the boots of a master mechanic in a retro-futuristic steampunk world with Clockwork Engineer, an immersive puzzle adventure that invites you to repair the core of an ancient mechanical wonder. Set against a backdrop of complex, interlocking machinery, your task is to restore order to broken gear trains and breathe life back into dormant systems.

The interface feels like a physical steampunk device, combining heavy copper platings, luxury brass outlines, and polished mahogany wood panels to create a tactile and elegant mechanical puzzle environment. Master the Physics of Gear Rotation The core gameplay centers on intuitive yet challenging spatial puzzle mechanics. Players are provided with pegboards and a toolbox of gears in four distinct sizes—ranging from small 8-tooth cogs to giant 32-tooth wheels.

By dragging and snapping cogs onto axles, you must build a continuous bridge of teeth that propagates rotation from a powered driving gear to a target goal axle. Every gear you place reverses the rotation direction and alters the velocity ratios, requiring careful calculation and analytical planning to meet the machine's required calibration speed. Navigate Dynamic Hazards and Mechanical Jams Connecting the mechanisms requires precision, as the engine does not tolerate mistakes.

Connecting cogs in conflicting loops will jam the gear train, causing gears to lock up, shake violently, and throw off sparks. To help you synchronize the machine, a custom analog steam pressure gauge sits on the board, featuring a parchment dial face and a red needle that flutters and vibrates. When the system achieves synchronization, pulling the copper steam lever plays a tactile mechanical animation, vents white steam puff particles, and starts the entire machine rotating in unified harmony. Embark on an Engineering Journey Explore a rich progression across 4 distinct chapters and 40 handcrafted levels, tracing your path from simple workshops to massive industrial engine rooms.

Each chapter is presented on heavy textured cast-iron plate layouts, where levels are represented as gold-capped miniature gear selectors. For veteran engineers seeking endless calibration trials, the game features a random matrix puzzle generator that shuffles board layouts and peg parameters, offering infinite replayability and mechanical configurations to solve. A Tactile and Premium Sensory Experience Every detail of Clockwork Engineer is designed to look, feel, and sound like a luxury mechanical antique.
