Permissions
Photos & Videos — CleanVault reads your photos and videos to detect duplicates, find large files, and perform compression. On Android 13 and above this uses READ_MEDIA_IMAGES and READ_MEDIA_VIDEO; on older Android versions READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE is used instead. All scanning and file operations run on-device only — no photos or videos are uploaded or shared.

Contacts — used to detect and merge duplicate contacts, with your approval before any change is made.

Notifications — used to show compression progress during background photo and video processing tasks.
