User reviews
Users appreciate the Clean Simple Eats app for consolidating recipes, meal planning, and macro tracking with useful features like favorite grouping and daily journaling. The recipes and products are generally enjoyed. However, many users are frustrated by the app's expense, particularly having to pay a subscription for recipes after buying products or cookbooks. The app suffers from a clunky interface, navigation difficulties, bugs, slow loading, and technical issues including incomplete grocery lists and missing nutrition info. Dependence on costly proprietary ingredients also detracts from value, making some users hesitant to continue usage.
Pros
- Provides access to a wide range of Clean Simple Eats recipes all in one place
- Helps with meal planning by allowing users to plan meals and generate grocery lists
- Offers macro tracking features and organized recipe browsing
- Includes features like grouping favorite recipes, drag and drop meal planning, and daily journaling
- Recipe flavors and products, especially the protein powder, are generally well-liked and delicious
Cons
- App is considered expensive especially since users feel paying for recipes after purchasing products or books is unfair
- App interface and navigation are clunky, confusing, and not user-friendly with bugs affecting meal imports and grocery lists
- Requires a paid subscription to access recipes even for users who already purchased cookbooks or products, leading to dissatisfaction
- App is slow loading pictures and suffers from technical issues such as missing nutritional facts and problems with functionality on Android
- Recipes heavily rely on proprietary, brand-specific ingredients which adds to the overall user expense and limits affordability

Your products are very expensive as it is so to make someone to pay for an app to get recipes to use your product is wrong. I have bought a lot of your product and shouldn't have to pay extra for this app. Especially since I just bought your recipe but too. 😥

The app is a little clunky, but I like everything it gives access to. I am going to keep using it and see if it gets easier with use. I love the protein products and I bought a couple of books, so this is a nice addition. I hope over time things become more streamlined.
