Zero room for a nuanced character in any way. All choices have to be linear or you fail constantly. Maybe it's the percentage system? Not a fan of stacking only one stat to succeed. Story was good but ramifications of deviating a characters ability to handle situations differently is kind of ridiculous.

The author is trying to do more than they have the storytelling talent or historical knowledge for. However, it's not pretentious and decently pleasant and enjoyable. I believe the author has potential to go on to do brilliant stories with adequate research, workshopping, and sticking to their strengths. Also offer a Catholic perspective that deviates from the Protestant teetoling.
