Checkout Cop: Price Checker

Overcharged at checkout? Make them pay it back.

Shelf prices change fast, and the register does not always match the tag. Checkout Cop is a price checker and receipt scanner that helps you catch a grocery store overcharge and ask for your money back. Free, with no account.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Snap each shelf tag as you shop.
2. Snap your whole receipt, or add screenshots of a digital receipt.
3. Checkout Cop matches each item to its tag and shows what you were overcharged.
4. You get the exact words to say at customer service.

KNOW YOUR STATE'S PRICE ACCURACY LAW
Some states make the store pay you more than the difference:
- Michigan's scanner law: the difference back plus a bonus of 10 times the overcharge, at least $1 and up to $5.
- Massachusetts: rings up high on an item $10 or under? It can be free. Over $10, $10 off.
- Connecticut: one free, up to $20.
- Every other state: you are still owed the difference.

WEIGHT CHECK
Paid for a pound and got less? Enter the label weight and what it really weighs, and Checkout Cop tells you if it is short and which office checks it.

WHAT TO DO GUIDE
In the store, already home, online order, self checkout, or the store said no. Plain steps for each.

GREAT FOR
Grocery shopping, big-box and dollar stores, sale weeks when shelf tags and the register disagree, and anyone who has ever said the store overcharged me and let it go.

FREE, NO ACCOUNT
No sign up and no fees. Photos are used only to read prices, and your trip is saved on your phone.

Checkout Cop is general information, not legal advice. It never files or sends anything for you, and it does not rank or shame stores. State rules link to their official sources at checkoutcop.com.

Looking for a price checker app, a receipt scanner, a grocery overcharge checker or a price accuracy law guide for your state? Checkout Cop matches your receipt to your shelf tags and shows what you were overcharged.
