Drive Smarter is valued by some users for its real-time alerts and usefulness, especially on certain detectors/cameras, and even called the best radar by a few. Yet it suffers from widespread stability issues (frequent disconnects), false alerts, privacy-permission concerns, and a laggy map/UI. Compatibility with a range of devices (Escort, Cobra, Redline) is inconsistent, and Android Auto support is limited. Overall, reliability and privacy remain the major drawbacks.

Recent reviews

Not even close to the experience you get with Google Maps or Waze! You have to have the app open on your phone and on your vehicle's android auto for it to work. Even then it is less accurate, slower, and less responsive. Some locations it just can't find. It's really junkie software. If you have the M2 camera you have to use the program to monitor what the camera is seeing and to program the camera. In my GM EV with Android Automotive System, the app is not available, so you can't run it.
