Catchment Crew

Catchment Crew is a powerful and easy-to-use freshwater monitoring app that helps professionals, educators, citizen scientists, and local communities assess the health of rivers and streams.

Whether you are carrying out detailed habitat surveys, introducing students to freshwater ecology, or exploring your local catchment, Catchment Crew provides the tools you need to collect high-quality environmental data and contribute to the protection of our freshwater ecosystems.

Designed for every user, Catchment Crew includes dedicated survey modes tailored to different levels of experience and purpose:
• Carry out robust stream assessments using professional survey tools, including SSCS (Small Streams Characterisation System) and SSIS (Small Streams Impact Score). These scientifically developed survey methods support consistent stream habitat and impact assessments for environmental professionals, fisheries managers, conservation organisations, and consultants.
• Conduct Citizen science surveys with the Citizen Science Streams Index (CSSI) and record observations using the Community Superheroes mode. These guided surveys make it simple for volunteers, community groups, anglers, and nature enthusiasts to collect meaningful data that can support local conservation efforts.
• Designed specifically for schools, the H2O Heroes schools mode provides engaging activities that introduce students to river ecosystems, water quality, and environmental stewardship through hands-on learning.

Key Features:
