This would be interesting, but I uploaded my driver's license and ID and it rejected it "based on internal guidelines after automated check" without elaborating further. I've never had issues with other rental services.

I've given up. Uploading ID is painful - it took about ten attempts to finally work, and then when it did I was told my driving licence, which I've held for over thirty years, wasn't suitable as it had recently been renewed. Maybe I should fish my old licence out of the bin? A horrible experience from start to aborted finish.
