Car Tag

CarTag lets people reach the owner of a car without swapping phone numbers. Put a QR badge on your windscreen, and anyone who notices a problem with your car can tell you in seconds.

WHEN IT HELPS
• A car is blocking yours in
• Headlights left on or a window open
• A scratch, a dent or a small accident while you were away
• A car about to be towed

AT SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR
• Scan the CarTag QR code with your phone camera or in the app
• No badge? Search by plate number, typed or read with your camera
• Looking a car up needs no account
• Verify your phone number once with an SMS code, pick a reason and send your message
• The owner does not see your number unless you choose to share it

FOR CAR OWNERS
• Get a free QR badge for your car and print it at postcard size or larger
• Choose what people see: your name, your plate in full or partly hidden, the make, model and colour, and a short note such as "Back in 5 minutes"
• Get a notification as soon as someone contacts you
• Let verified people reach you on WhatsApp if you want to
• Pause contact requests when the car is sold or in the garage
• Decide whether your car can be found by its plate
• See when your badge was scanned
• Replace your badge at any time if the code was copied
• Your phone number is never printed on the badge

SAFETY AND PRIVACY
• Only people with a verified phone number can contact you
• Every contact is logged, and limits stop spam and repeated messages
• Block or report anyone who misuses it
• Download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time, in the app or on the CarTag website
