User Reviews

Users report Candour ID is unreliable and frequently fails during university verification. Key issues include passport/NFC reading failures, selfie capture/face recognition errors, and the begin button or scan process not responding. Connection losses and overall app crashes further disrupt verification, often causing missed exams or admission windows. Many users also note a lack of troubleshooting guidance and the impression that alternatives should be sought. Overall, the app causes significant delays and disappointment for students needing timely verification.

Pros

Cons

Passport/NFC scanning failures: the app cannot reliably read biometric passport via NFC
Selfie/ID recognition problems: selfies or ID pages are not recognized by the app
Begin button or scan process unresponsive: UI does not respond and cannot start verification
Connection problems: repeated 'connection lost' or 'linked browser' issues interrupt verification
Crashes, delays, and missed opportunities: app crashes or stalls, causing delays and missed exams/admissions; limited attempts and little troubleshooting guidance
