Watchpost: Uptime Monitor

Watchpost keeps an eye on the websites, servers and services you care about, and tells you the moment one stops responding.

Add what you want to watch, set how often it should be checked, and let it run.
Checks continue in the background while the app is closed. When something goes down, you get a notification — you don't have to open the app to find out.


WHAT YOU CAN MONITOR

Six check types, so you can watch more than just "is the page loading":

• HTTP/HTTPS — for websites. Counts as down if the site returns an error such as 404 or 500, not only when it's unreachable.
• API — for endpoints where the response matters. Assert the exact status code it must return, and text the response body must contain.
• TCP — for open ports and services. Enter a host and the port it listens on.
• Ping — for basic host reachability. Enter a host or IP address.
• Database — for database servers. Enter a host and port.
• TLS certificate — catches an expiring HTTPS certificate before it lapses. Set
how many days' warning you want, and it reports as failing once inside that
window.

THE DASHBOARD

Every service on one screen with its current status, when it was last checked, and a short reason when a check fails — "HTTP 503", "Connection refused", "Certificate expires in 12 days". A counter at the top shows how many are online and how many
are down.

"Check now" on a card re-checks one service immediately. "Check all" runs the whole list. No waiting for the next scheduled run.


BACKGROUND CHECKS

Each service runs on its own schedule, from every 15 minutes upward. Fifteen minutes is the floor Android itself enforces on background work — anything shorter would silently never run, so the app doesn't offer it. Checks only fire when there's a
network connection, so a dropped signal isn't reported as an outage.


FAILURE HISTORY

Each service keeps a timestamped record of its past failures, so you can tell a
one-off blip from something that has been failing all week.

NOTIFICATIONS

You get a notification when a service stops responding or answers with an error.
If notifications are switched off, the dashboard says so plainly, rather than
leaving you to read silence as good news.


PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account. No sign-up. No servers of ours in the middle.

Your list of monitored services lives only on your device, and checks run from your phone straight to the endpoints you entered. That also means Watchpost can reach things a cloud monitoring service can't — a NAS, a home lab, a device on your LAN or VPN — because the check comes from wherever your phone is.

No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
