Classic backgammon: board game. 2 players offline, vs the computer or online.
REAL BACKGAMMON. OFFLINE. TWO PLAYERS ON ONE PHONE. ONLINE WHEN YOU WANT.
NO ENERGY BARS. NO SUBSCRIPTION. NO SIGN-UP.
Backgammon Grandmaster Edition brings the classic board game to your phone, with everything you need to actually play backgammon — not just tap.
PLAY BACKGAMMON OFFLINE, ANYWHERE
No connection needed. On a plane, on a train, or in the middle of nowhere — the whole backgammon board is on your phone. Ten levels of computer opponent, from your very first game to an engine that punishes every mistake. No account, no sign-up, no waiting for a server.
TWO PLAYERS, ONE PHONE
The oldest way to play backgammon, and still the best one. Put the phone on the table between you and pass it back and forth, exactly like a real board. No account, no internet, no cost, no limits — and nobody watching a clock unless you want one.
THE REAL RULES, NOT A SIMPLIFIED VERSION
The doubling cube, the bar, and wins counted properly: a single game, a gammon, or a backgammon. Both pip counts stay on screen the whole time, the way they are on a real board, so you can see who is ahead without counting checkers. The cube can be switched off when the two of you are sharing one phone.
THE DICE ARE NOT RIGGED
Every backgammon app gets accused of this, so here is how ours works. Both sides roll from the same generator, every number has the same one-in-six chance, and the difficulty setting changes how well the computer plays — never what it rolls. A stronger opponent thinks better. It does not get luckier.
LEARN BACKGAMMON PROPERLY
A full tutorial that teaches the game from the first checker, and a rules screen that stays: the aim, how you move, the dice, playing both numbers, made points, hitting, entering from the bar, bearing off, what a win is worth, and how the doubling cube works. Move hints while you play, and one tap to turn them off.
SEE WHERE THE GAME TURNED
When a backgammon game ends it is played back move by move, and the engine says what each move cost against the best one available: a good move, a slip, a mistake, or the blunder that decided it. That is how you stop making the same one twice.
PLAY BACKGAMMON ONLINE WHEN YOU WANT TO
Real opponents at four tables, from the one that costs almost nothing to the one that gives you ten seconds a move. You see the entry cost, the prize and the clock before you sit down, and the winner takes the prize. You can see who else is online and challenge anyone by name.
The entry cost and the prize are coins. Coins are part of the game and nothing else: they have no cash value, there is nothing to cash out, and no real money can be won here. You earn them by playing, and you can buy more if you would rather not wait for them.
A RANK YOU CLIMB, AND A BOARD YOU APPEAR ON
Every online backgammon game moves your rating. The leaderboard shows name, country, rating and games played, and your rank has an emblem that changes as you climb. The rating is yours in this game alone: nothing is carried over from another game, and nothing you win here is spent anywhere else.
EARN AS YOU PLAY
Coins for every match against the computer — more for winning, but something even when you lose, as long as you play it out. A free chest and a free spin of the wheel every day, and a streak that pays extra spins on the fifth day in a row. Miss a day and the streak starts again, because otherwise it would not be a streak.
A GAME YOU CAN WALK AWAY FROM
Leave in the middle of a backgammon game, close the app, come back tomorrow: the board is exactly where you left it, dice and cube included.
NO ARTIFICIAL LIMITS
No energy bars. No lives. No waiting to play again, and no subscription of any kind. This backgammon board game is free and carries advertising, and a single one-off purchase removes it for good — bought once, on every phone you sign in to, for ever.
Backgammon in nine languages: English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Turkish and Greek.
