WHY THE MATH MATTERS

Lumi computes planetary positions using the same ephemeris models professional
astronomy software uses — VSOP87 for the planets, ELP for the Moon. Positions are
accurate to within arcseconds, houses are Whole Sign, and your Ascendant is derived from
the local sidereal time at your birth location. If you have had your chart done by a
human astrologer, the numbers will match.

Most apps skip this. It is the difference between astrology and a random paragraph
generator.

PRIVACY

Your birth date, birth time and birth location are encrypted before they are stored. We
cannot read them. You can export everything we hold on you, or delete your account and
all of it, from inside the app — no email, no waiting.
