Booking Minds

Choose someone worth meeting in person and send an offer with your price. They accept or decline, and when you meet, a QR scan releases the money.

Three tabs at the top - People, Events and Needs - decide what you see: the map, Today, Requests and Messages follow the one you pick.

People
Find members on the map and search by name, profession or service. Open a profile and send an offer with your price and a short message. To appear on the map you need a profile photo and a pin. Allow location and your pin moves with you each time you open the app, or drop it by hand and it stays where you put it. Other members see your pin exactly where it is.

Events
Host a dinner, a workshop or a coffee for six. Guests offer what they would pay to join, and you choose who comes. At the event you show one QR code, and each guest scans it at the door.

Needs
Post what you need, when and for how much, like "a plumber tomorrow at 9 for $40". It goes on the map as a pin, and while we are under 1,000 members it is sent as a notification to every member who has notifications on. Members who can help raise a hand with their price. You choose one and send them the offer. You need a profile photo to post or to raise a hand, and a pin on the map to post.

Today shows what is happening in whichever one you pick: new members in People, events coming up and photos from past ones in Events, open needs and your own in Needs. Mind, behind the brain icon at the top, has short summaries of published research on meeting people, trust, negotiation and sleep, each with a link to the study.

How the money works
- When you send an offer, the amount is held on your card. Nothing is charged yet.
- Your card is charged when the other side says yes. Chat then opens so you can sort out the details.
- At the meeting, the person being paid shows a QR code and the payer scans it. That scan releases the money.
- The professional or host receives 85%, and Booking Minds keeps a 15% fee.
- If your offer is declined, or gets no answer within about a week, the hold is released and nothing is charged.
- If you cancel after they say yes, you get the amount back minus the 15% fee. If they cancel, you get it all back, fee included. If the other person does not show up, write to support instead of cancelling.
- At a paid event, each guest's scan at the door pays the host. A guest who does not scan in gets their payment back minus the 15% fee, sent 2 to 3 days after the start. If the host cancels, or nobody scans in around the start, every guest who did not scan in gets a full refund, fee included.
Amounts are in US dollars, with an approximate local amount shown when the app can. Your bank may add a foreign currency fee. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. Help & safety in the app explains cancellations and refunds.

Trust and safety
- A verified ID is needed to send or accept a paid offer. Sending also needs a profile photo and a card. A host needs a verified ID to accept paid guests.
- The ID check uses an ID document and a live selfie, run by an independent identity company. We do not store images of your ID.
- One ID document holds one account at a time.
- Chat opens only inside an accepted meeting or event.
- You can report or block any member from their profile.
- Booking Minds is for adults 18 and over.

For professionals
- You keep 85% of each paid meeting or job, and of each paid guest who scans in at your event.
- Set a private reserve price. Offers below it are turned away, and the sender never sees your number.
- When someone posts what they need, raise a hand with your price. If they choose you, the offer comes to you.
- Set up payouts in Earnings, and the money reaches your bank through Stripe, in countries Stripe supports.
- Withdraw from $1 once every 24 hours. Whatever is left is paid out on the 1st of each month, with no minimum.
