Polymer properties, Plastics
Polymer Reference & Tools is a free, no-ads reference app for plastics engineers, technicians, students, designers, and anyone who works with polymeric materials. Everything works offline.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Polymer Densities (175+ polymers)
Comprehensive density data for all common engineering plastics: ABS, PA6, PA66, PC, PE, PP, PVC, PMMA, PET, PEEK, POM, PPS, PTFE, and many more. Sort alphabetically or by density value to find candidates that match your weight requirements.
Mechanical Strength
Yield and tensile strength values (MPa) for common engineering polymers.
Chemical Resistance Lookup (NEW in 7.0)
A new two-way lookup tool. Pick a polymer to see how it reacts to 20 common chemicals: acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric), bases (NaOH), solvents (acetone, MEK, toluene, alcohols), fuels, oils, bleach, peroxide, and hot water. Or pick a chemical to see which polymers resist it best.
Ratings use a clear A/B/C/D system based on standard polymer chemistry, with failure-mode notes (dissolves, hydrolyzes, stress cracking, swelling) where relevant.
Polymer Identification Guide
Identify an unknown plastic using classical burn-test methodology: press-test, water float test, burn behavior, flame color, odor, drips, and burning speed. Find candidate polymers based on observed properties.
Weight Calculator
Calculate the weight of plates and rods given polymer density and dimensions. Separate tabs for plates (thickness x width x length) and rods (diameter x length). Choose your preferred decimal separator (dot or comma) in Settings.
WHO THIS IS FOR
- Plastics processors and engineers selecting materials

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER
This app is for informational and educational purposes only. Values represent typical room-temperature behavior compiled from multiple public sources. Real-world performance depends on grade, additives, temperature, concentration, exposure time, and mechanical stress. For critical or safety-related applications, always verify with the manufacturer's current technical datasheet and conduct application-specific testing.
The app is free, contains no ads, no in-app purchases, and does not collect any user data.
