BeSafe is a subscription-based app designed to help people who want to reduce or stop accessing online gambling platforms.

Its main function is to block websites and domains related to gambling, including regulated and unregulated operators, and addresses added manually by the user. To enhance the effectiveness of the protection, BeSafe uses network filtering mechanisms on the device and artificial intelligence resources to assist in identifying and updating the database of gambling-related domains.

In addition to blocking, the app offers support and monitoring features, such as Guardian Mode, progress reports, tracking of the protection period, estimation of savings, and content aimed at maintaining the decision not to gamble.

BeSafe acts as a technological tool for protection and support. The app does not replace medical, psychological, or any other professional treatment related to gambling disorder.

Use of the protection service on Android

On Android, BeSafe uses the VpnService API exclusively as a technical mechanism to implement DNS filtering and blocking of gambling sites at the device level.

The VPN Service allows the application to direct domain queries to BeSafe's filtering service, identify addresses classified as betting or gambling sites, and block access to that content. The same mechanism is also used to apply custom blocks manually added by the user.

BeSafe does not offer a general-purpose VPN. The application does not change the user's virtual location, does not provide country or server selection, does not offer features for anonymous browsing, and does not allow bypassing geographical restrictions.

The VPN Service API is used exclusively to enable the core functionality of protection against betting sites and is not used for traffic redirection for advertising or monetization purposes.
