RidgeRation is a simple trail snack planner built for hikers who want a clear, practical way to organize food for day trips and short outdoor walks. It helps you manage each snack pack with a name, an eat stage, a carry effort rating, and an optional trail note for taste, energy, or conditions. The Today tab lays out your snack packs in a trail-day sequence, so you can quickly see what to eat at the start, midway, or finish of a hike. Quick add and quick edit actions make it easy to adjust your plan before you head out or while reviewing your pack list.
The Packs tab gives you a full view of all stored snack packs and supports the complete workflow to create, review, update, and delete entries whenever your plan changes. Each row includes clear carry effort labels, helping you compare light, medium, or bulky options at a glance. The Search tab lets you filter your saved snack packs instantly by name, eat stage, or note, so finding the right item takes only a moment. The Tips tab provides helpful offline hiking snack reminders along with a preview of lighter-carry snack pack ideas.
A compact dashboard helps you stay oriented with a total count of all snack packs, a count of packs marked for Midway, and a short recent list of the last three updated entries. This makes it easy to spot gaps in your hike-day food plan and review recent changes without digging through the full list. All data is stored locally on your device, giving you a lightweight planning experience without accounts or extra setup. RidgeRation is especially useful for beginner hikers, solo walkers, and small groups who want a straightforward way to build and maintain a reliable trail snack plan.
