BAR Cirrus

BAR Cirrus is the cloud platform for steel reinforcement and accessories developed by the British Association of Reinforcement (BAR). It provides a digital route for reinforcement traceability from steel manufacture, to fabrication and then delivery to site.

The tool fully embraces the ‘Golden Thread’ of information that was recommended by Dame Judith Hackitt in her report ‘Building a Safer Report’ which was published in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire disaster. The Golden Thread refers to the vital flow of information that should be readily available. BAR Cirrus offers the digital traceability of product provenance and quality assurance that meets the requirement of the Golden Thread. Importantly, it ensures that reinforcement specification is fit for the digital age.
